Mr. Steinmetz has 20 years of experience in the financial services industry as an investment banking professional and venture capitalist. Mr. Steinmetz has extensive transaction-based and principal-based investing experience representing over $500 million in capital raising activities for public and private emerging growth companies. In 1990 Mr. Steinmetz co-founded Spencer-Trask Securities, Inc., a prominent investment banking firm that has provided capital raising and advisory services to companies such as Myriad Genetics, NTN Communications, FirstCom Corporation, and Ciena Corporation. Prior to Spencer-Trask, beginning in 1983 Mr. Steinmetz served as a capital markets specialist with firms including Smith Barney and Barclay Investments, predominantly in direct equity and private placements. Mr. Steinmetz holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.

Theodore H. Swindells has over 25 years experience in investment banking, venture capital, and corporate finance. Mr. Swindells concentrates on the financing of emerging telecommunications and technology businesses. Mr. Swindells was a founding partner of Maroon Bells Capital Partners for ten years, managing numerous private equity investments. Mr. Swindells’ previous experience includes corporate finance and venture capital positions with Drexel Burnham Lambert, RubiconVentures, Hambrecht & Quist, Woodman Kirkpatrick & Gilbreath and Bank of America. Mr. Swindells holds a BA in economics from Claremont Men's College and an MBA in Finance from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Business.
Andre Schwegler, Managing Director, Public Capital Markets
Andre Schwegler has over 10 years of experience in corporate finance and investment banking, specializing in institutional private placements for publicly traded companies, and prior to that spent 15 years as a management and sales executive with three privately held telecommunications companies. He began his career in 1978 with Arthur Andersen Consulting (now known as Accenture) as a Management Information Systems consultant. Since joining TerraNova Capital in 2003, Mr. Schwegler has been lead banker or a participating banker in over 25 placements totaling approximately $200 million in equity capital for public companies in a broad range of industry sectors. Mr. Schwegler has extensive expertise in the structuring of private equity placements, and has established a large number of relationships among institutional investors that participate in the equity and convertible debt markets. Mr. Schwegler is a skilled analyst of the fundamental and technical aspects of companies operating in high-tech, high-growth industry sectors. Mr. Schwegler holds Series 7, 63, and 24 securities licenses and obtained a B.S. degree in Business and Engineering from Clarkson University in 1977.
Courtney Clark, Managing Director, Public Capital Markets
Ms. Clark brings 8 years of corporate finance expertise to TerraNova, where her focus includes client development, relationship management, and institutional sales. Since joining TerraNova Capital in 2003, Ms. Clark has been instrumental in the growth of the firm’s U.S. Capital Markets activities, including the introduction of client companies for whom TerraNova has arranged over $75 million in equity capital. Prior to joining TerraNova, Ms. Clark worked in a sales capacity for ResortQuest International, Inc. (bought by Gaylord Entertainment, GET on NYSE) where for 5 years she sold and supported the implementation of integrated software solutions for companies involved in resort and hotel management. Ms. Clark holds Series 7 and 63 securities licenses, and obtained an MBA from the University of Colorado and a BA from Georgetown University.
Arthur Gutch, Managing Director, Merchant Banking
A Successful Cross-Border Executive, Mr. Gutch brings almost two decades of experience in building and financing high technology and service businesses. Mr. Gutch has formed, funded and operated technology companies, consulted on corporate strategy for large and emerging companies and is active in working with global executives to enter new markets. Mr. Gutch has participated in the private and public financial markets, completing venture capital, angel, M&A transactions and advanced technology licensing. For ten of the last fifteen years Mr. Gutch was in Silicon Valley where he actively managed and consulted to venture capital financed companies. His areas of expertise include: Transportation Logistics, wireless communications, mobile computing, enterprise software, digital imaging, knowledge management, marketing automation, healthcare technology and global integration consulting. Michael Campbell, Managing Director, Corporate Finance
Mr. Campbell has 25 years of experience financing, building and running high growth companies. He built UniStor in the late 80s early 90s into a $100+ million per year producer of data storage devices through three joint ventures in Russia, China and Spain. Michael has raised over $150 million in government, venture, private, corporate, and institutional capital for eight start-ups that he founded during his hi-tech career and another $100 million in debt and equity as a consultant for other emerging companies. He has been involved in merging private companies into public entities and financing them through the public capital markets for the last five years.
Renée S. Grossman, Managing Director
Renée S. Grossman has over 18 years of experience in investment banking, principal investing, strategic consulting and corporate finance. She has acquired, investing in, raised capital for and provided advisory services for companies across a broad range of industries, including energy, business services, communications, consumer and technology. Ms. Grossman joined TerraNova in January 2008. Previously she specialized in private equity placement and mergers and acquisition advisory services for middle-market companies at Ladenburg Thalmann and RSG Capital LLC, a firm she formed. Prior to RSG, she was a Vice President at Counsel Corporation, a private equity investing firm where she focused on business services, technology, communications and Internet investing. At Counsel she acquired several telecommunications companies, which were consolidated into iLink, a company in which she was made Director of Strategic Planning. Previously, Ms. Grossman was a Vice President with The Shattan Group LLC, a private equity investment bank; a consultant for The Boston Consulting Group; and a financial analyst in mergers & acquisitions and leveraged buyouts with Wasserstein Perella & Co., Inc. Ms. Grossman earned a MBA degree and a Bachelor of Science in Economics degree, summa cum laude, from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Karlis Felzenberg, Managing Director
Karlis Felzenberg has over 12 years of investment banking experience. Prior to joining TerraNova he was a Managing Director and Head of Communications Technology Investment Banking at ThinkPanmure LLC in San Francisco. Prior to ThinkPanmure, Mr. Felzenberg was a Principal in the west coast office of Needham & Company, a full service investment bank focused on emerging growth companies. During his nine years at Needham and ThinkPanmure, Mr. Felzenberg worked on over 40 successfully completed public or private equity financing transactions, and over 15 successfully completed M&A transactions. In addition to communications technology, he has worked with clients in software, greentech, life sciences, and consumer/retail industries. Mr Felzenberg also served as a Director in M&A for Newport Capital Group in Sydney, Australia for three years. During this period, he worked on over 15 domestic and cross-border transactions for technology companies. Mr. Felzenberg started his career with Deloitte & Touche, LLP in San Francisco. Mr. Felzenberg graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering.
Paul T. Chan, Managing Director, Global Markets
Mr. Chan has extensive experience in financial and management consulting. Mr. Chan has been a consulting Swap Strategist and Fixed Income Securities Economist. Mr. Chan was a Managing Director of Corporate Finance at Dunhill Equities, Inc. and Director of Corporate Services at Stonebridge Asset Management, Inc. a private offshore merchant bank. While at Stonebridge, Mr. Chan specialized in counseling small and middle-market companies on sales, mergers, acquisitions, recapitalizations and cross border transactions. He is a specialist in Quantitative Modeling, Economic Forecasting and Regulatory Economics. As a consultant, Mr. Chan advised a money center bank in the establishment of the bank's Swap Department. Mr. Chan was a Professor of Finance at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Long Island University. A University Fellow of New York University, Mr. Chan received his doctoral graduate education in the departments of Economics and Finance. He holds a MBA degree in Finance and Quantitative Analysis, an MS in Economics and a BS in Mathematics and Economics. Mr. Chan was affiliated with the National Bureau of Economics Research, the C. V. Starr Applied Economics Center, the Solomon Research Center of financial markets and the Institute of Economic Analysis, where he worked under the direction of Professor Wassily Leontieff, a Nobel Prize Laureate and Professor Fritz Machlup, a world-renowned international economist. He has also served as a referee for The Economic Journal and The American Economist.
Norman Kristoff, Managing Director, Global Markets
Mr. Kristoff has over twenty years of practical and oversight experience in the domestic and international mergers and acquisitions and investment banking sectors. In addition, Mr. Kristoff has assisted in the founding and operation of several privately held manufacturing companies and has consulted on behalf of numerous U. S. based companies planning international expansion. During his tenure at Yamaichi International (America), Inc., Mr. Kristoff served as Senior Vice President and Department Head of North American merger and acquisition operations. In that capacity, Mr. Kristoff counted major U. S. and Japanese companies among his client list, in addition to having reporting responsibility through the firm’s head office in Tokyo. Mr. Kristoff helped found and served as a Managing Director of Spencer Trask Securities, Inc. and acted as a principal at KMS Management, an international consulting firm specializing in international emerging markets transactions. Mr. Kristoff holds a BA from Washington & Lee University.
James Zhang, Managing Director, Global Markets
Mr. Zhang has more than fifteen years of experience in the United States capital markets. Mr. Zhang began his capital markets career with Charles Schwab & Co. where he acted in the capacity of Senior Investment Specialist. Mr. Zhang was a member of the core team at Charles Schwab & Co., which established and developed the Asia Pacific Services Division where he ultimately grew that division’s client portfolios to more than $500 million. Subsequently, Mr. Zhang joined Merrill Lynch & Co. where he developed an investment group specializing in the Asian markets. Mr. Zhang had as his clients senior executives of China-based publicly listed companies and personally oversaw a client portfolio of over $200 million in assets. Mr. Zhang received his B.S. at Jinan University and his Masters in Economics (with a specialization in accounting) from Brooklyn College.
Jerrie Colish, Director
Mr. Colish has over 22 years of experience consulting with NASD broker/dealers, financial planners, corporations, investment partnerships and high net worth individuals in the analysis, selection and marketing of partnerships, special products, tax planning strategies and for the private placement of debt and equity offerings. Mr. Colish has obtained both a law degree and a masters degree in taxation. He began his career practicing corporate and real estate law for six years, after which he joined a securities brokerage firm as general counsel. He has a B.G.S. from the University of Michigan and both a J.D. and a tax LLM from the University of Miami School of Law.
Ziad Abdelnour, Managing Director
Mr. Abdelnour brings 18 years of Wall Street experience to TerraNova, as an investment banking professional and entrepreneurial venture capitalist, representing over $3.5 billion in capital raising efforts on behalf of numerous emerging growth and middle market companies. Prior to joining TerraNova, Mr. Abdelnour was Managing Director and Head of Venture Finance at THCG, a New York-based merchant banking firm. Prior to THCG, Mr. Abdelnour held senior investment and merchant banking positions with Ladenburg Thalmann, Inc., Interbank Capital Group, Drexel Burnham, Inc., and American Express Co. Mr. Abdelnour holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Finance and a B.S. in Economics from the American University of Beirut.
David Wenger, Managing Director
During his twenty year career on Wall Street Mr. Wenger has been involved in investment banking, venture capital and private equity financing, portfolio management, and retail and institutional sales. Mr. Wenger was a founder and shareholder of Auerbach Financial Group, Inc. and Auerbach Pollak & Richardson, Inc. a regional boutique investment bank, where he was responsible for the overall growth of the firm in addition to the development of the firm’s Private Equity Group. Mr. Wenger was previously associated with a number of other global financial firms and investment banks including PaineWebber, Inc., Lehman Brothers and Drexel Burnham Lambert where his activities involved client service, training, and new business development.
