Henan Zhongpin Inc

Zhongpin Inc. is a China based meat and food processing company with 2007 revenues of $291 million and net income of $18.5 million.

Challenge
Privately-held and needing capital to implement an aggressive growth strategy to distribute its products in over 2500 grocery stores throughout China, Zhongpin retained TerraNova in mid-2005 to implement a financial strategy to access the US public capital markets, and again in late-2007 to co-agent a $50 million private placement for acquistions and capacity expansion.

Solution

Beginning in 2005 TerraNova has provided comprehensive investment banking services to the company, which resulted in an Alternative Public Offering of $27,600,000 with US institutional investors in February 2006 and a co-agented private placement of $50,000,000 in October 2007. Now in over 2500 stores, the company has forecasted 2008 revenues of $490 to $520 million and net income in excess of $30 million.
